This article will explain how to use the Practice Banner feature.
We suggest only using this in essential circumstances, such as unexpected practice closures, telephone line outages, etc.
Please use your news/blog pages or your homepage for general news. This creates a better user experience for your patients and allows them to find the needed content as efficiently as possible.
The practice banner has been designed in line with the latest NHS guidelines on how banners/important announcements should look and function on a GP website.
How do I add the banner?
In the editor, select, Banners under the Settings heading:
You have 2 sections to fill out:
Title - We would suggest keeping this short - For example, "Practice Closure".
If a title is not inputted, "Important" will be added by default, as seen below:
Content - This is where you will add the content of the banner. We'd recommend having the main topic of the announcement in the first sentence:
After entering the Title and Content, Press Save:
Press Yes on the "Are you sure?" popup, and refresh the screen:
The banner will show at the top of your website:
Users can press Find out more which takes them to a dedicated banner page to see the full announcement.
Users can press Dismiss to remove the announcement.
How do I remove the banner?
At top of the Banners page you have a Settings section with2 options:
Enable Global Banner - If MSW publish a global banner, you can switch this off your website
Enable Practice Banner - This turns off the banner that the practice publish
Toggle On/Off, and press Save:
