We are excited to announce a new template designed using the NHS Design Framework.
This article explains how you can change your current design to the NHS Design within a few clicks.
Change your Website Design
In the website editor, select Template Picker on the left-hand menu under the Customise header.
You'll then see two options:
Select NHS Template Picker.
Header Options
You have four options that differ in the appearance of the website header and are explained below:
1 - NHS Design Organisational
A blue background that includes your logo, practice name and practice details (if enabled through settings)
2 - NHS Design White
A white background that includes your logo, practice name and practice details (if enabled through settings)
3- NHS Design Default
A blue background that only displays a logo, and no practice name or details. We only advise using this if you replace the NHS logo with a logo that uses your practice name
4- NHS Design Service
A blue background that displays a logo and your practice name. No other practice details
We suggest using NHS Design Organisation or NHS Design White.
Once you have decided, hover over your chosen header choice and press Live.
Warning Message
It is important to read the warning before commencing. If you have a custom colour scheme, such as a green colour scheme, this will not be carried over.
Select Agree and Continue to make the NHS design template live on your website.
Customise the Header
A new feature within Website Settings allows you to add practice details in the header if you use the NHS Design Organisational or NHS Design White header options. To access this section, select Website under the Settings header within the editor:
The header section allows you to customise the content in the header.
Homepage Link allows you to either have a Home icon, or the text "Home".
Practice Details allow you to pull data through from the Sites tool in FPMS.
For example, if you wanted the practice email to show in the header, simply toggle on the email option and scroll down and press Save.

Custom Text
Allows you to add text that will show under your practice name and details. We recommend using this for vital information - For example, if you have branch surgeries. You could add the text:
Church Surgery | Mount Surgery | Cheslea Surgery
Tag Line
The tagline allows you to add text, such as "Welcome to the Practice" on your homepage on the hero section that sits above the background image:
CQC Rating
You can have your CQC rating shown in the header by adding your unique CQC number into the Practice Details page via the CQC Rating section.
To locate your unique CQC number, visit the CQC website, search for your practice on the homepage and select on your practice practice. In the address bar in your web browser will be your unique code which looks similar to "1-546082111".
Copy this into the CQC Code field, and press Save at the bottom:
FAQs
Where have my 2 menus gone?
Previously on the MSW templates, you had 2 menus:
Main Menu was the menu items at the top of the page:
Important/Big Buttons on the Homepage
Both of these menus have been condensed into one main menu across the top of the NHS template to ensure all of your menu items are available at all times for your patients and no content is lost:
Has the editor changed?
You can edit your website as you usually would by adding widgets, or reorganising widgets on the page.
