Before using the Holiday Planner you must have added your staff contact details into the Staff Members section. See Staff Members.
What does it do?
- The Holiday Planner enables you to use MSW to organise and manage all of your staff holidays and absences.
- You can organise absences into different types: holiday, sick, study or other.
- You can filter the Holiday Planner by date, type, staff member
- You can filter the holiday planner by: Today, Day, Week, Month or Year view.
- Select a specific date
- Holiday report
How do I create new holiday entry?
To add a new holiday, simply click on the date you wish the holiday to begin. This will open the dialogue box with your holiday information. Now select the member of staff. You can now set the dates the holiday applies to. It automatically defaults to one day but you can change the range by clicking in the date boxes.
If you untick the “full day” option, you can set the individual to be off for portions of the day which will carry across into their allowance as full or half days as appropriate. Once you have added the information, click “OK”. The holiday will automatically appear in the holiday planner.
How do I edit an existing holiday entry?
To edit an existing holiday entry, simply select the entry from within the holiday planner. The view holiday details box will open and allow you to make any changes and save or delete the entry if need be.
How do I filter the Holiday Planner?
If you wish to view the holidays for the entire year you can select “entire year” from the Date box at the top left of the Holiday Planner. You can the select an individual from the Staff Member box and click on “refresh”. This will give you a report of the total holidays for that member of staff for the whole year. You can see them on the calendar and also in the text summary above it.
Don’t forget, you can also filter the search results by category as well as by individual.
